The Louvre on Top
The Musée du Louvre was the most frequented museum in the world in 2007, with 8,300,000 visitors. In second place, the Centre Pompidou had 5,509,425, followed by the Tate Modern with 5,191,840, the British Museum with 4,837,878, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art with 4,547,353. The Musée d’Orsay finished in ninth place with 3,166,509.
