A Reminder
I am happy to report that all is progressing nicely at Deyrolle after the tragic fire that took place in February (see “Hermes Helps Deyrolle,” April 8, 2008). On 10 April, the salon vert (green room), entirely repainted, opened its doors. In June, what remains of the collections will again be open to the public.
This rebirth owes a lot to the determination of the owner, Prince Louis-Albert de Broglie, and to supporters from around the globe.
In that vein, let me remind you that only a couple of days remain (until the 1st of June) to purchase the scarf, “Plumes,” by Hermès, the proceeds of which will go to the rebuilding of the collections. For more information, click here.

Jan, I couldn’t translate it. Please email me with directions on how to order. Will they take Visa?
Mimi, it looks as if you will need to do an international bank transfer. Shipping for the scarf is an additional €15, and, in my experience, the international transfers run around $40.
If you want, I will translate all the bank info for you.
WHOA, that is tres cher, but I do appreciate your offer.
Well, it’s certainly beyond my buying power at the moment, but let’s hope (and I’m sure) there are lots of people out there who bought it.
It just occurred to me, I wonder if it was tax deductible.
Went past Deyrolle a week ago and its looking good! Honestly, the place did not look like it had that shocking fire – More power to them! Bravo!
