I haven't been there, ladyjicky, although I've seen lots of pictures. Usually, when I need an Art Nouveau fix, I go either to the Musée d'Orsay or to private galleries.

There is some good Art Nouveau architecture here, but nothing copared to Brussels, where I saw some wonderful things. Unfortunately, a lot of the AN buildings here were destroyed, as they were considered "old fashioned" when Art Déco came along.

However, there's always the Métro. A wonderful building, in the 16th arrondissement, is Castel Béranger, an apartment building. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the interior. I have to meet someone who lives there.

katiehull, if I were in NY, I would certainly like to see at least the exhibition.

ladyjicky, to be fair, Sotheby's also has a very good site.

I love Daum and Gallé, too, but then I love glass, and particularly Art Nouveau.

I have never had a look on the christie site but that was fascinating Jan! I was not surprised about the Versace estimates and they will go for more but the Jackie O jumper - well, if they could say SHE owned it - well , it would go like a bomb! You know, you could wear that jumper right now and not look dated.
What took my fancy? The Daum crystal! I love Daum and Galle and when I win the lottery - I am buying some! LOL
